EORI monitoring tracks the validity of supplier EORI numbers after your first check. Add numbers to a watchlist for scheduled uncached HMRC or TAXUD checks, dated status history and email alerts when validity changes.
Monitoring uses the same EORICheck key and Mini, Starter, Growth or Scale subscription. It does not create a separate product or alter your EORI/VAT API quota.
Used only in this tab to authenticate the watchlist. It is not stored in monitoring records, analytics or exports.

How to start monitoring a supplier EORI
- Enter the API key from your paid delivery email above and select Open watchlist. Your original Free key stays Free; if access looks wrong, check the delivered key and plan before buying again.
- Enter the supplier number in EORI to monitor and select Add live watch. The initial register check creates the first dated evidence record.
- Return to the watchlist to review the result and change history. Later checks run at your plan's cadence; an unchanged validity result does not send a new alert.
No alert is not proof of a fresh valid result. Review the check date and register response before relying on a supplier's status.
One EORI check or ongoing monitoring?
A single check answers whether a number is valid when you look it up. Monitoring repeats that check for a watchlist, so you can review changes without entering the same supplier numbers each time. For a one-off result, use the EORI checker. For a list you want to check once, use the bulk EORI checker.
How to read an EORI monitoring result
- Valid or invalid
- Read the result alongside its check date. It describes the register response at that time; it does not guarantee the next result. If validity changes, review the dated history and confirm the number with your counterparty.
- Register unavailable
- A failed recheck is not evidence that a supplier EORI became invalid. Treat the current status as unconfirmed until the register responds again.
- Email alert
- Alerts are requested when the validity result changes. Use the dated history to review that change; an unchanged result does not trigger a new validity-change alert.

What is EORI monitoring?
It is a recurring EORI validity check with dated change history and an email alert when the status changes. It uses the same EORICheck key as the API and does not turn a service error into an invalid decision.
Which EORI registers does monitoring use?
GB EORI numbers are checked through HMRC. XI and EU-27 EORI numbers are checked through the European Commission TAXUD service.
Does EORI monitoring send an alert after every check?
No. The first check records the starting status. Later checks request an email alert when validity changes, not when the result stays the same. Use the dated history to review the change.
Is EORI monitoring continuous or scheduled?
Checks are scheduled at the cadence of your existing plan, rather than continuously. Read each result with its date: it describes the response at that check, not a guarantee that the number is valid now.

Monitoring allowances on existing plans
Recurring checks have a separate, explicit watch allowance so scheduled work cannot unexpectedly consume the validation totals returned by /v1/usage.
